About the Association
The Icelandic Association
of Translators and Interpreters was founded on 30 September 2004. It is a
professional association for translators and interpreters whose purpose
is to work for its members’ interests, to strengthen promotion about
their work, to increase collaboration between members, support education
and continuous learning, initiate cooperation with analogous
associations abroad and protect the interests and rights of translators
and interpreters in accordance with Icelandic laws and international
practices.
Only members of certain associations can become members of
Icelandic Association of Translators and Interpreters, see article 3 of
the Association’s statutes.
